I have always known that I wanted to work with fashion as a career. Studying different areas of art and design on the Foundation course has helped me develop many new skills; however, it has confirmed my desire to study fashion. I believe that the course at Manchester Metropolitan University is right for me because I feel that I need to develop my skills in pattern cutting, making and styling outfits, which is what the course offers. What also excites me is the opportunity to participate in live projects and working with people who have experience in the industry.

Below I have included a selection of my work from A level and the foundation course. Firstly I have included some garments which I have made as part of projects in college. I have also included some observational drawings, life drawings, Photoshop images, textile pieces and 3D work.

 The two dresses above are from A-level projects and the one below is from a project on the Foundation course. The dress below was an outcome from a project on alternative materials for fashion, it is made from paper doilies.

 Drawing has never been a particularly strong point of mine, and I have found that the foundation course has really helped my drawing skills to develop and I think I have created some much improved pieces of work.

Ceramic Butterflies.

This piece was inspired by one of my favourite designers Alexander McQueen. It stemmed from a plate design project inspired by the designer. They are made from clay on which I used lace to create the intricate pattern before cutting out the butterfly shapes.
